When we first heard that a multi-season series about the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples was in production, a few of us were immediately inspired. We had one goal: to see this incredible show made available to a Georgian audience.
Georgia is a country with its own unique language and alphabet, but our population is relatively small. This often makes it difficult to bring major international projects here. However, we were determined to reach out to the creators of “The Chosen.” To our surprise, we received a quick and positive response, and our team was given the opportunity to begin translating and dubbing the series into Georgian.
Our journey started with a warm Zoom meeting with representatives from the Come and See Foundation. We learned about their mission and were eager to contribute in any way we could. Our work on this project primarily involves reviewing and localizing the translated script. This includes a meticulous check of the cultural and theological context, ensuring the language is not only accurate but also clear and relatable to a Georgian audience.
Once we complete our review and add any necessary notes, we send the script to one of Georgia’s top studios for professional dubbing. After we receive the dubbed video, we perform a final quality check to ensure everything is perfect. Only then is the Georgian-language version uploaded to “The Chosen’s” official website and app.
We have now successfully completed the review process for four seasons, confirming their suitability for the Georgian people. We are currently working on the script for the fifth season.
We are proud to play a part in bringing this powerful story to our country and helping to connect the people of Georgia with a project that has touched so many lives around the world.
